MIPI Alliance welcomed 145 participants, representing 46 member companies, to Milan, Italy, 17-21 June, for MIPI Member Meeting Europe #51. Throughout the week, participants collaborated within 17 groups to advance MIPI specifications and strategic priorities, plan development and marketing activities, and network with colleagues from around the globe.

The MIPI groups that met this week included the board of directors, 11 working groups, the Technical and Marketing steering groups, the Software Device Class subgroup, the Security BoF and the I3C Basic Ad Hoc Group. MIPI Alliance members can follow the progress of specification development, adoption and other working group activities with the post F2F report and specification roadmap sent shortly after the conclusion of each member meeting.

Opening Plenary

OP-Milan-2019-JoelMeeting #51 officially launched on Tuesday, 18 June, at the Opening Plenary, where attendees received updates from Joel Huloux, MIPI Alliance chairman, and working group leaders. Huloux shared the latest information on membership demographics, security initiatives and emerging areas of focus.

His presentation was followed by a roadmap update from Eugen Becker, TSG vice chair; and a summary from Kevin Yee, Marketing Steering Group chair, on the latest activities related to 5G, automotive and IoT. In addition, Enrico Carrieri, Debug WG chair, reported on the group's activities, recent accomplishments and future direction. Roy Chestnut, vice chair of the DevCon Steering Committee, encouraged members to get involved with MIPI DevCon Taipei and help spread the word about the 18 October event.
